New Zealand Day 14 : Last Day in Christchurch and Scared Scriptless

11/11/2016 Friday

Can't believe today is the 14th day already. Time flies when you are super happy and enjoying your holidays! We had our leftover Budaejigae from last night's dinner as our breakfast and want to keep some space for a yummy lunch later.

Today we did some souvenir shopping and Jou took me to few new nice dining place.

Another jumping shot in front of Jou's place and her faithful car which served us for the past 2 weeks
First stop, we went to K Mart at Westfield to get some chocolates and other small souvenirs home.

And saw Mc Donalds sundae cone which I cannot resist to try

Well, I still remember the milk was very fresh but the taste is not as thick as the Malaysian's version. Erm, guess I still prefer our own Mc D sundae cone
There was this Rugby League World Cup 2017 road show with the big trophy.

super huge trophy

this is a wrapping paper with New Zealand map on it. Jou got it and she said she will frame it up
Ok, next up, this is the most anticipated lunch ever at Lao Di Fang - meaning Old Place.

Super yummy Sui Chu Yu -> Ling Fish cooked in a sweet and spicy soup super yum until I'm still able to salivating now when I'm typing this. If not mistaken, it s a Sze Chuan dish but this restaurant is opened by a Malaysia. WOW.
One dish is more than enough. Back in Malaysia, you can find this dish in Dragon-I or Canton-I but of course different type of fish used ok.

Big foot small bird statue > <
We had our afternoon tea at Coffee Culture. Ordered coffee for the very first time and finished all by myself, thinking that if I cannot sleep on that night, I can recover some sleep in the plane on the next day. Er, well, it is actually just a mochaholic and my heart was beating super fast already.

Working hard on my journal. Thank God I wrote something otherwise it is such a pain to recall things that you have done and the places you have visited two years ago.

people, please get this Puhoi Valley Chocolate drink it is heavenly good trust me. If you are from KL and going to KL, please get me a bottle please, it is not that heavy and I promised to pay you when you get back k. You can get it in any grocery store.
At night, we came back to this Valentino restaurant simply because it is so good.
See the people here..need to queue one ok?

Pork Chop

how can we not order their famous Tiramisu

two happy pigs and satisfied faces
And we walked around the streets at Christchurch Central and came to this naughty shop heheh:

Peaches and Cream- well, went inside and got something out :P

and they have F45 here? I just signed up a 7 days trial back in KL
Jou brought me to this Court Theare to watch the Scared Scriptless as a farewell gift for me to go back tomorrow. HUHUHU  So kind of her to "send me off" like that.

A super spontaneous improvised show

We had a good laugh for the whole 80 minutes. Thank you so much Jou for the wonderful last night. Can't believe it is the final night here.

New Zealand Day 13 : Pancakes Rocks and Blowholes

10/11/2016 Thursday

Packed our bags and off we go again!

See, my new watch from yesterday's suburn at Abel Tasman
We continued our journey home and ot the way, we stopped by Pancake Rocks Blowholes.

Looks exactly like a a big stacks of pancakes

It was drizzling but we still insisted to give these pancakes a visit

The entrance to the pancakes and yes, it looks like we are going for jungle trekking

Heart-shaped leaves

How would I knew that the 20 minutes of jungle trekking pathway leads to this beautiful sight

The pancakes rocks

The Pancake Rocks are a heavily eroded limestone area where the sea bursts through several vertical blowholes.

Stacks of pancakes. Very beautiful natural rocks formation.

One of the blowholes

This scenery reminds me of the Great Wall of China, I know it is totally different world. haha

Me and the stack of pancakes rocks.

We didn't stay too long at the pancakes partly it started to rain, so we just continued our journey home.

Came to this one way bridge, somewhere over the rainbow

This Jou kept telling me that she needs to concentrate in driving as the roads ahead are the most dangerous roads in New Zealand. I was so worried and I was wondering what type of road it will be, is it very narrow? Or is it very winding (like Genting Highlands or Cameron Highlands) and narrow?

Then we came across to another bridge with full bloom of yellow flowers.

I requested Jou to stopped at the roadside. She said she just wait for me in the car and hence, left me alone walking toward the small lane with these beautiful yellow flowers on my left and right.

And this is what I saw, beautiful river and can't touch it as it has high rocks around

After few photos taken, I quickly ran back to Jou. I remembered there were so many bees around searching for me honey.

Jeng Jeng Jeng...this is the so called the most dangerous road in New Zealand as acclaimed by Jou.

OK, in order to find out the truth, I googled it and this is what I got :

Arthur's Pass is a mountain pass at an elevation of 739m (2,425ft) above the sea level, located within the Arthurs Pass National Park, the major national park in the center of the South Island New Zealand.
The road over the pass is called New Zealand highway 73 (also known as West Coast Road). It still remains an adrenaline-pumping journey and is definitely not for the faint of lungs, heart, or legs. Arthur’s Pass, climbing to more than 900 metres through Arthur's Pass National Park, is the highest and most spectacular pass across the Southern Alps. It is a piece of extreme engineering involving viaducts, bridges, rock shelters and waterfalls redirected into chutes. The pass is a popular base for exploring Arthur's Pass National Park. The road is majestic and beautiful but can be test of nerves for the driver. Particularly in winter, when snow and ice may cover the road and chains are recommended at times. Consider taking the train or coach to Arthur's Pass instead.
This is an exquisite winding mountain drive with sharp and blind curves and hairpin switchbacks leading the traveler over the mountains. Do not travel this road in severe weather conditions.
OK, now I know why it is the claimed as the  most dangerous road.

Hi Kea, we meet again. Read my trip to Milford Sound about

This time, I'm closer to you.

The view of Arthur's Pass; actually not that scary

This road is scarier  but like my hair here so much like a shampoo advertisement

The scariest I can imagine is that the bridge will be destroyed during earthquake but luckily this area is not affected by any earthquake (yet) touch wood.

After taking photographs of the most dangerous pass, we continue with the Great Alpine Highway and came to this beautiful scenery.

Stopped our car, took off our picnic chairs and sat there for about half an hour to appreciate the view. Anyone, please enlighten me with the name of this location, thank you so much...

The journey

The hills looks so welcoming..

Just in case you are lost, please read this route. This was taken at a toilet before the entrance to the Castle Hill.

And..we arrived at Castle Hill, ya the castle on the hill but cannot find any castle around

Get ready for some walks to the Castle Hill. Entrance is free. Same as the Pancakes Blowholes earlier.

It was a bright sunny day, hence good for hiking

So many rocks..today's trip is about different types of rocks hehe. This is ancient limestone formation

Looks like snowman but this is rockman!

See how huge are these rocks

Got to know an European backpackers and asked her to take lots of photos of us together :)

One will easily get lost if you wonder too far away

millions of ancient limestones

Fly fly away
Once we got home at Lincoln, Jou fetched me to another Korean restaurant as we were craving for our
Budaejigae!!!

You can take me out from Asia but you can't take the Asia out of me.
