Switzerland Day 1 : Lucerne and Mt Pilatus

Our wedding was held on the 23rd Dec 2017 and our flight from KL to Zurich was on 25th Dec 2017 early morning. Due to work commitments, we have no choice but to go for our honeymoon immediately right after our wedding. We have exactly ONE day to..checked out from our hotel, returned our wedding gowns and accessories, rushed to Samsung to get my new Note 8 (Note 5 was crashed to the floor 2 days before my wedding) and finally, packed our luggage at 10pm and set our alarm 5am as our flight was 9.40am on the very next day.

We don't even have the time to dine with our immediate families who came all the way from Penang and JB to attend our wedding.

We flew via Oman Air- they were having some promotions, and we got our tickets 2 months before the honeymoon. So, basically I was the one who planned for the rest of the itinerary while managing our wedding preparation at the same time. I'm giving myself a pat on my shoulder while I'm typing this.

Arrived at Oman airport after 7 hours of flight, another 8 to go

View from Oman airport
We flew from KL to Oman in the Christmas morning and arrived Zurich airport in the evening. Wow, we still managed to celebrate Christmas in the plane and in THREE different countries.

We bought our Swiss Pass for the next 8 days in the airport while waiting for our free shuttle to Holiday Inn Express. You will need this pass for the rest for the transportation (train, bus, tram) throughout Switzerland. Furthermore, it is just 15 minutes to the hotel and vice versa.

As we just need to shower and sleep, Holiday Inn Express is decent enough and we had our Christmas sandwich in the hotel as most of the restaurant were closed for Christmas.

At the entrance of Holiday Inn Express, waiting for free shuttle back to the airport

The public toilet in Zurich main station, yes Swiss Franc 1 to release the thing that you need to release away.
We took one of the earliest train from Zurich to Lucerne, at around 8am. You can download the
timetable from the Swiss pass website. The journey from Zurich to Lucerne is only 55 minutes.

Lucerne jetty, which is just located right in front of Lucerne airport

We walked to our hotel which was like just 10 minutes away from the jetty. It was such an easy walk as you just walked by this beautiful lake and cross 2 to 3 streets.
After checking in, we immediately took bus number 1 to Kriens from the bus stop right in front of our hotel to Mt Pilatus We stopped at Zentrum Pilatus and walked about 5 minutes (follow the crowd) to the Gondola Station. The queue was so long and we waited for about 45minutes before our turn to go up the gondola.

View from our cable car

First sight of the snow

More and more snowy mountains coming up

Top of Mt Pilatus. Freezing cold.

Need some rice to load up carbo

Hot Chocolate with such a stunning view

We didn't manage to really enjoy the snow activities here, as it was already late and furthermore, we are going to Mt Rigi tomorrow early morning.

At around 4.30pm, we decided to return back to Lucerne town.

And decided to walked around the Lucerne town. See how dark the skies at around 6 plus in the evening.

Found my love here....

and this..

and this..

this!

And this look at the chocolate fountain, I can just dip myself here

One with the Rolex building, erm,  hopefully will get a Rolex watch very soon

At the famous Chapel Bridge

OMG , you MUST dine here at Antipasteria La Barca and brave the cold to dine outdoor k..
They served the best cheese fondue and the white soup (with alcohol)

Da Men = Big Door in Mandarin, but does it mean Ladies in Swiss?
Had a short walk around the Chapel Bridge area, I can't even smile caused it was too cold.

Saw some watches on the way back to hotel.

Decided to enter the shop ...

and end up with a pair of couple watches.

As a honeymoon gift to ourslves.

Went back to our hotel with big smiles on our faces. Gota rest early and can't wait to share with you more on our second day to Mt. Rigi. Stay tuned.
